The high-altitude pastures and challenging ascent trail offer tourists a unique experience of nature and adventure in a breathtaking setting.
The high meadows around Santa Bárbara, the mountain to the west of Roncal, are the most important in the municipality. The Santa Bárbara dirt-track, which climbs to these meadows and links with the Laza pass, is the best known in the area. It is a tough climb, mostly on the north face of the mountain, so there may be snow and mud in winter.
