Milestones placed every 1,481 metres mark this section of the road that linked Zaragoza and Bordeaux (1st century BC). These markers recorded distances and provided information about the emperor. Original milestones stand at the Casa del Concejo in Aurizberri/Espinal and at the Luzaide/Valcarlos Centre (free admission).
