Starting at a ski resort, an easy route through beech forests with spectacular views of the valley and mountains.
The trail begins at the Abodi Nordic Ski Centre in Larrainxarra, in the Pikatua area, at 1,320 metres on the road to Larraine-Larrau. It climbs to the Iturzaeta pass at 1,573 metres on the slopes of Mount Orhi. The route follows a cross-country ski trail, which makes for a generous and easy path that should not be used during the ski season. The first section climbs gently through the forest toward the Sierra de Abodi at 1,400 metres, offering views of the Salazar Valley, the distant mountains of Roncal and Hecho, and a unique perspective of Mount Orhi. The return cuts across the southern flank, staying within the forest.
