GREAT PYRENEES HIKING ROUTE -CENTRAL LOOP-

Explore breathtaking landscapes and charming villages on a route that connects hidden valleys and mountains, ideal for nature lovers.

The Salazar Valley, starting from the village of Otsagabia, serves as the start of the central loop. The route follows the GR 11 toward the Sierra de Abodi, crossing the range from east to west toward the Aezkoa Valley. From the village of Villanueva de Aezkoa, the path heads south through the valley, passing villages such as Garaioa. The itinerary traverses the southern slopes of the Navarrese Pyrenees through the Areta mountains, linking with the GR 324 Zaraitzubide in the Salazar Valley. After crossing through the village of Jaurrieta, the route descends to the valley floor to return to Otsagabia.
