GR-11.4: PYRENEAN TRAIL, EZKAURRE VARIANT

A challenging route offering breathtaking views, thrilling climbs and a captivating descent through beech forests, ideal for nature lovers.

The Ezkaurre 11.4 variant climbs from the Txiberri and Telesforo barns up the slopes of Mendikosanz to the Arrigorrieta ridgeline. From there, it skirts the western slope of Peña Godía and approaches Peña del Ibón, nearing the base of Ezkaurre. After passing the lake on the right, the route continues up the southern slope until it nearly reaches the summit. The most delicate section is the descent along a narrow, exposed path on the north face, which drops into the forest on the ridgeline connecting to Punta Abizondo. From there, it descends to the Argibiela pass, also known as Puerto de los Navarros.
